Continuing towards Appledore, we pass the Lifeboat Station. entering the picturesque rows of quaint, colourful cottages known as Irsha Street. The buildings on this street were once the homes and workplaces of many of Appledores, long gone boat builders and their associated trades. Most of the houses are now holiday homes, a few are still residential, watch out for owner of the green double fronted building, half way down, on the right. Unlike most Appledore residents, for whom, owning a dog is de rigueur, this gentleman must exude dog dislike. Gypsy always starts frantically barking on approach to this house causing comments like “shut up” and “go back home” to issue forth from its portals. One has to feel sorry, really that he cannot find enjoyment at living in such a beautiful place and our furry, four legged friends.
